Early Saturday, January 4, 1975 ----------------------------------------------- 1:35a - Meditation
SUPER JACKPOT!!! ----------------------------------------------- *The premise on Jackpot! is 16 players trying to win $50,000 in cash, right? Well as far as the Super Jackpot goes, it happen at least once or more than in every 10 shows thanks to a x50 multiplier giving 1 expert to solve one riddle worth $38,750. The money was divided by Pam & Kevin, which Pam gave the right answer after hearing it from Geoff Edwards. The riddle was "He's a Carpenter and I'm a Shepherd, but we're both in the same line of work. What's our line?" and the answer was astronaut in tribute of the 1969 moon landing. Everyone on that show won money except Ann from Ft. Wayne, Indiana got herself a Jackpot! t-shirt just for playing the game.
"TV Farewells for $10, Art." ----------------------------------------------- *"Ladies & gentlemen, it's with great admiration that I present for the 2,753rd time. The star of Jeopardy!... Art Fleming!" That was the introduction from Don Pardo who has been the announcer for the show since its 1964 inception except one show where Wayne Howell was the substitute. Jeopardy! with host Art Fleming kicked off its 2,753rd and final show with an audience giving Art an standing ovation after making his entrance to start the show. The players on that final show were: Debbie of Whitestone, New York, Robin from New York City & John from Washington, D.C. who won $1,980 after 3 days. The categories for the 1st round were: Jeopardy! 1964, Just Desserts, Famous Beaux, Musical Farewells, Comebacks & Scrambled Jeopardy! Categories. If anyone sweeps the column under any category earns a $500 bonus, but none of them in the finale achieved it, but it has in the past.
Some of the notable moments in its 11-year run includes: Gene Shalit has a clever way to question the answer from a $100 daily double bet regarding the NBC peacock, an uninterrupted daily double film clip made on May 5, 1961 at Cape Canaveral for Alan Shepherd's Project Mercury flight during its 2,000th show in 1972 features 3 former champions, a special appearance by Mel Brooks as the 2,000-year old man & the 1967 Jeopardy! week-long scholarship contest.
The last 6 categories in Double Jeopardy were: People in Jeopardy, Long Runs, Famous Last Words, Geography, Foreign Phrases & Alter Egos. After 2 rounds of play, Robin's in 1st place with $650, Debbie in 2nd with $280 and John with $270 going into the Final Jeopardy! round of the series and the category was Fictional Heroines. The clue for the round was: At the end of the novel, she says defiantly, "Tomorrow is another day". Two players answered "Who was Scarlett O'Hara?" except one. Final scores: John with $20 after losing $250, Debbie with $380 after adding $100 and the last winner of the series was Robin with $700 after adding only 50 to the 650 she had. John leaves with a 4-day total of $2,000 and all players get a 25-volume encyclopedia set and a copy of the Jeopardy 10th edition box game.
The fun and games on the show turned into a serious yet fond farewell where Fleming thanked the viewers and the audience for being a part of Jeopardy in the past 11 years. There was no theme music to the show played, so instead, they played "Smile" as the theme for the daytime finale. The nighttime edition continued on for the next several months in other markets. The following Monday, January 6th, a new Merv Griffin-produced television game called Wheel of Fortune with Chuck Woolery & Susan Stafford makes its debut in the morning time slot along with Blank Check with Art James while Days of Our Lives & The Doctors seen an half-hour early to make way for Another World's expansion to 1 hour making it the 1st televised daytime drama on television to do so.

Used to enjoy The Price is Right and Jeopardy. Now I can't stand the games shows. Same for me, because I've been down that road when it comes to a couple of 24-hour game show channels. I quit watching them 8 years ago or I've never seen them at all.
