Feeding & Playing w. a Family of Wild Canada Geese we Have Been Caring for Since Their Mother Died.
After the parents (and three goslings) were killed by a predator, we have been "raising" a family of geese since they were one week old. Just an FYI- we NEVER feed them bread (contrary to popular belief, bread is NOT suitable ducks or geese, as it contains no nutrients). However, they grabbed a piece of the bread Bree was eating so we gave them a few tiny pieces. We give them occasional fruit or veggie snacks, but they primarily graze on grass and vegetation and do not need to be cared for. They bring us so much joy and it has been a once in a lifetime, memorable experience.

That is lovely they rescued the goslings. The geese seem right at home with them.

when my first neice was younger and mom came to visit she took her to feed the geese
she came home crying, i said to mom what happened
she said all they did was peck at her legs
so nope not going to watch
when i was little in the same place
my grandparents would take me
mom got so mad because my little booties were all covered in poop
it was a snowsuit with them attached and that
sorry but not them that much
but other birds...they do alot of poop and they won't want people to feed them but they do

The majority of geese are like as you described so don't blame you for not watching it.
