Yes, in case of any family emergencies that may come up. Exactly why I do it. I have 'Do not disturb' turned on but family members and a couple of select friends are exempt.

Our cell is only for emergencies. Our landline is hooked on the base. When I get up during the night, I do check to see if it's blinking that we have a message. WAY easier than having to wait for a cell to turn back on, scroll through, etc lol
