I remember the old wish bone at Sunday lunch and Dad and I breaking it to find out who was going to have Good Luck.

Yes I remember this. There were 4 of us so it was often a cause of arguments who would get to pull the wishbone. I seem to remember Dad was always one of them though

I don't think I'm likely to forget, because it was the wishbone that made me realise there wasn't a Santa
we never ate together in our house, so we never had family time or that bond that families share.
I remember doing it one christmas (the wish bone thing), and rather than good luck, the person would be encouraged to make a wish.
well, I made a wish (in secret, told no one), and later my mother asked me what it was
I said I'd wished for a certain toy for christmas, and she immediately frowned, and went.. (insert name of toy) the one thing I forgot to get
and then it clicked. hah. no Santa. not the best way to find out, but there we go

Ellyfant your Dad enjoyed the wishbone like mine. I don't remember ever breaking the wishbone with Mum.
Emily that isn't the best way to find out there is no Santa for sure.
