I look at the modern generation playground and they sure are safer than my old playground but bet they don't enjoy the rides as much as we did. We sure were tough with those burnt bums sliding down and landing on the hard ground.

Totally agree T.T., we came to no harm. Children in today's world are wrapped in soft cotton wool.

Well we learned TO be safer. If we got an owie, our parents would kiss it to "make it all better" & then we'd learn what to do & not to do. Today's kids have all these safety features & just like with phones, don't have to think for themselves. They then don't LEARN.

i don't get it at all i mean, come on we had all this and we're still alive they're so worried about something happening to a child.....that there's no fun anymore loved these slides and stuff when i was a child I look at the modern generation playground and they sure are safer than my old playground but bet they don't enjoy the rides as much as we did. We sure were tough with those burnt bums sliding down and landing on the hard ground. and completely agree with this

Today's kids have all these safety features & just like with phones, don't have to think for themselves. They then don't LEARN. right we had bruised and bloody knees and elbows...patch them up and well go back outside again susan and how sad is that......that they don't learn how to look after themselves.... i mean here they got rid of like 100 tobaggan runs, because oh a child might get hurt.....they might crash into a tree or something....well you learn to avoid them. they got so much backlash that they had to reopen them again heck at school we'd take a plastic bag or a cardboard box and slide the school's hill at recess or if we returned and enough time was left for lunch.... no one said anything....
